The first week of term
The queue at the bursar's window starts before the gate opens. Receipts are written by hand, copied into a ledger and lost in school bags by Friday. When a parent insists a payment was made, someone spends an afternoon in bank statements to prove it either way.
The turning point
The school decides fees should not depend on paper and patience. Hylen builds fees into the school's own system: invoices for every family at the start of term, payments recorded as they arrive, and a receipt for each one in the parent portal.

What changes
Invoices go out on time, in the school's own name. Parents pay and see the receipt the same day, without travelling to the school. The month closes before lunch, and the bursar's window is quiet enough for the conversations that really need a person.
Why it matters
Every payment record belongs to the school, not to a company that can change the terms. When the board asks where the term stands, the answer is on one screen, and each family can see its own side of it too.
